Bahrain is a small island country situated near the western shores of the Persian Gulf, east of Saudi Arabia. It is an archipelago of 33 islands, the largest being Bahrain Island. The neighboring countries are Saudi Arabia. Bahrain is visually stunning and there are plenty of activities to engage in. With a lengthy coastline, the country is known for its beautiful turquoise green waters. The land of Bahrain is home to some of the well known mosques in the world. Some of the premier and most popular mosques among them are the Al Fateh Mosque and Al Khamis Mosque. Other destinations worth a visit are Bab al Bahrain, Dilmun Burial Mounds, Barbar Temple, Riffa Fort, Tree of Life and Arab Fort. The first oil field in Bahrain is also among the popular destinations of Bahrain. Apart from historical sites Bahrain also has a wildlife sanctuary called Al-Areen for all the nature enthusiasts.
