Gudauri is the newest skiing resort in Georgia and is the ideal destination for winter sport lovers. It is located just two hours drive from Tbilisi, on a south-facing plateau of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia, 2,200 meters above sea level. Surrounded by a vista of dramatic peaks and breathtaking gorges, Gudauri guarantees astonishing views and high quality services to its visitors.
Set high above the clouds, Gudauri offers plenty of sunshine and excellent snow conditions for 4-5 months. From December to late April the mountain slopes are covered with snow and their average snow depth reaches 2.5 m. The total length of Gudauri ski runs exceeds 57 kilometres and meets the highest international standards. The slopes are accessible via a cabin lift, moving carpets, chairlifts and, several platter lifts. the lift raise to Gudauri's highest point to 3,285 meters.
The winter slopes of Gudauri which have no stones on and out of tracks and are considered avalanche safe, offer facilities for skiers of all types and abilities.  Runs are suited to beginners and professionals alike; they can find impressive opportunities for slalom, giant slalom, and downhill skiing, and even the world famous heli skiing, for those who love to indulge in extreme challenges. Exceptionally fine cross-country skiing is available down virgin slopes and across remote valleys – all set within the unforgettable landscape of the Greater Caucasus. The main downhill runs at Gudauri operate between 2000 and 3000metres - with a total length of 16kms. The resort boasts some of the best heli skiing in the world, at some of the most affordable prices found anywhere. With helicopters granted almost unrestricted access to local mountains, skiers can experience some of the finest powder-snow in the Caucasus at altitudes between 1500 and 4200 metres. The flights drop clients off on mountain tops, glaciers and fabulous ridges. Gudauri’s helicopters are serviced and operated by the French company Heliksir. Children can have lots of fun at playgrounds that can be found in the village near the hotels, or take private or group ski lessons at ski school. The Sports School offers several safe ski runs for children and beginners. Tubing is one of the non-ski activities that can be found in Gudauri.
Gudauri provides reasonable accommodation to its visitors. Now there are 5 multi-family houses, 25 hotels, gesthauzov and cottages; several restaurants, ski school for children, saunas, two indoor tennis courts, two bowling alleys, an indoor swimming pool, currency exchange, a few small night clubs and equipment rental can also be found there.
In the neighbourhood of Gudauri Georgian Military Road can be found - a wonderful object of amateur travel. It may form part of the road, cycling, hiking or skiing route or provide a convenient route for getting to the water to start the campaign from the headwaters of the Terek River, or White Aragvi, mountain hiking or traveling out of the side canyons. From any point Gudauri gorge Aragvi can be reached, there originates the river Aragvi. At 5 km from Gudauri can be found the beauty of the Cross Pass (2395 m) - the main crossing point of the Greater Caucasus; Trinity Monastery Gergeti (Sameba) on the slopes of Mount Kazbek (5,048 m) is located 25-30 km from the mountain resort.
In summer the resort is surrounded by a selection of fabulous treks and horse trails, taking in some of Europe’s most unspoiled alpine scenery, stunning medieval churches and castles, and world famous bird watching.
