Aruba is a 33 km - long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea. It's a mere 27 km from the coast of Venezuela and 130 km east of Guajira Peninsula. The island is an autonomous dependency of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. A beach-lover's paradise, this Caribbean island's interior boasts desert, but the coasts are filled with picture-perfect, powdery white sand and tranquil sapphire waters. With gorgeous year-round weather, it's always the right time to scuba dive, windsurf, snorkel, tee off, horse ride or hike. The desert island has plenty of great natural and manmade wonders to visit and explore. Some of them are the Aruba Butterfly Farm, the Numismatic Museum of Aruba, the Quadiriki Caves, the Bushiribana Gold Mine Ruins, the Arikok National Park and the Aruba Aloe Factory.
