The Garden of the Sleeping Giant

The Garden of the Sleeping Giant is one of the most popular and spectacular attractions in Fiji. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant sits at the foothills of the Nausori Highlands just a few minutes north of Nadi, Fiji. The mountain has a the shape of a sleeping man which is obviously where the name for the Gardens originated.

For an entry fee of just $10, tourist can wander through the lush and fertile plantation and find the largest and most beautiful collection of orchids in the world. There are several rare Fijian orchids that can be founded only on Fiji Island and only in this magnificent garden.
The Garden of Sleeping Giant is a beautiful orchid range started in 1977 by the late Raymond Burr. Raymond Burr is best known for being the star of the popular TV series Perry Mason and the movie Ironside.  In the beginning, it was the home to Raymond Burr's private collection of tropical orchids. But now,  his orchid collection has grown to be one of the most popular Fiji Island attractions.
The most popular attraction of the garden is Raymond Burr's holiday shack, which is open to visitors for an additional fee of $8; the entry price includes a delightful afternoon tea.The shack still contains a few items that belonged to the superstar, including photographs, his favourite chair and even his walking cane.
Another magnificent place is the inland lake simply overflowing with water lilies of all hues and colors. During the flourishing season water lilies creates a true story and tourists are fascinated by the scenery.
Walk through the Gardens, tourists will find numerous tables and chairs available where you can take a rest and absorb the tranquil surroundings. Picnics are allowed, so visitors shouldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the peace and serenity of some of the most stunning gardens on earth. After tourists have made treir way through this beautiful Fiji garden, they will be met with a delightful, refreshing cocktail of tropical fruit; this delicious drink is included in the entry price.
