The Republic of Botswana is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa. The land of a staggering beauty with a small population is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north and Zimbabwe to the northeast. Up to 70% Botswana is covered by the Kalahari Desert. The landscape ranges from wide, open savannah scrub land and vast salt-pans to the unique inland waterways of the Okavango Delta. Much of Botswana is remote and remains accessible to only a small number of visitors, thus making the country an ideal wilderness experience. The most visited places are Kalahari Desert – the home of the semi-nomadic San people, Khama Rhino Sanctuary – the home to some of the few remaining rhinos in Botswana, Gemsbok National Park – the home of an amazing number of cheetahs, gemsbok, hartebeests, springboks, eland, lions and other animals, Okavango Delta - the largest inland delta in the world offers great scenic beauty and sustains phenomenal numbers of wild animals that could be viewed from safari vans and boats.
